Embed a timeline on your site
Every occupation timeline on Future History can live on your page: the job's river of cited employment, coloured by tool era, with a year lens that names each cited count and, where one is close in time, a cited wage. It is free for any site: career services, classrooms, newsrooms, blogs.
How
Open the timeline you want, scroll to Embed this timeline on your site, and paste the snippet into your page. It looks like this:
<iframe src="https://futurehistory.earth/embed/15-1252" width="100%" height="430" style="border:0" title="Software Developers, a Future History timeline" loading="lazy"></iframe>
Options
Append ?theme=dark for dark host pages, or ?theme=auto to follow the reader's system preference. The default is light.
What the embed does and does not do
- Every figure is a cited datapoint; readings label the exact survey year they come from.
- It sets no cookies and runs no analytics inside your page.
- It is a view, not a data feed: there is no bulk download or API. Readers who want the full record follow the link to the timeline itself.
